About CIMSPA

The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) was launched in 2011 and is the professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector.  It  has been awarded chartered status by the Privy Council, which came into effect in January 2012, and provides leadership, support and empowerment for professionals working in sport and physical activity and a single unified voice for the sector.

As a CIMSPA Skills Development Partner, our recognised training is reviewed against professional standards in the sport, fitness, leisure, and physical activity sector.  With a growing number of employers committing to only using CIMSPA-recognised training, it provides us with a powerful ‘stamp of approval’ for the education that we provide.  The endorsement signifies that the activity contributes to an individuals continued professional development and carries CPD points.  All CIMSPA members are required to carry out a set amount of CPD per membership year.

Plans start from just £55 and this insurance scheme has been specifically designed for fitness industry professionals, to cater for the needs of CIMSPA members who require a flexible insurance.  As long as you are a resident of the UK or Ireland, this scheme is available to CIMSPA members who are fitness instructors with an accepted qualification whether operating locally or worldwide, in a gym, studio, leisure facility, client’s home or outdoors. It provides cover for variable work patterns, for those who are employed, self-employed, on contract or who change between these options.
